I don't want any more of my friends to die.

First responders suffer from some of the highest rates of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, and PTS. They also have an abnormally high rate of divorce, alcoholism, and suicidal ideation. This is a major problem.

There is also an ongoing paradigm shift with public safety agencies becoming more aware and engaging in better health & wellness practices for their personnel but sadly most leaders are not serious about wellness. They will talk a big game about how important wellness is but they can't or won't fund any programs. So how can we fix that?

Provide opportunities for affordable multi-disciplined, high-impact training programs that are expert led by industry leading instructors who actually care about public safety and understand WE NEED THEM.

We need our responders to be as healthy and mentally prepared as possible to make good decisions which reduces liability and increases longevity. They are tactical atheletes that play a game that can be life and death depending on their preparation.

I founded Tombstone Courage to solve this problem by building an organization that can deliver multi-disciplined training events at affordable prices so any responder or spouse can attend. I had the honor of serving my country in the U.S. Marine Corps and then my community for over 29-years in law enforcement.

My life's work is now focused on advocating for first responder mental health programs, performance, and longevity by bringing expert led training and resources our communities.

Since 2017, I've been organizing leadership and resilience conferences, partnering with nonprofits, public safety agencies and consulting firms to bring top-tier speakers to my community and to increase the readiness of of our responders.

The Victory Mindset Leadership & Resilience Summit for First Responders is the culmination of over 20 years experience in the peer support and mental health space that began in 2004. I've been blessed with the experience of traveling the country to meet with leaders from large and small agencies to help them develop and strengthen their wellness programs so that they can support their personnel at the highest level. As my mentor "Dr. Deadlift says, "We will accept no defeat, ONLY VICTORY."

For me, Victory is when my friends win the fight, keep their families together, and survive this career. The toughest fight for some is the fight after the fight. We must do more to prepare our responders to reach retirement so they can live happy and healthy lives. That is achieving total victory.
